Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common questions.

Is CadNexa free to use?+
Yes! CadNexa has a free forever tier. You can view 3D files, place up to 5 balloons per page, and use basic measurement โ€” all without paying anything or entering a credit card. Paid plans start at โ‚น399/month for unlimited features.
Are my files uploaded to your servers?+
No. All file processing happens in your browser using WebAssembly technology. Your STEP files and PDF drawings never leave your computer. We don't see, store, or have access to your design files.
What file formats are supported?+
CadNexa 3D supports 14+ formats: STEP, IGES, BREP, STL, OBJ, PLY, GLB, GLTF, FBX, 3MF, DXF, DAE, SAT, and AMF. The Balloon Tool works with any PDF drawing.
How accurate is the BOM weight calculation?+
Very accurate. CadNexa calculates the exact volume from the 3D geometry using OpenCascade (the same math kernel used by FreeCAD and other professional tools). Multiply by material density = weight. The accuracy depends on the quality of your CAD model.
Can I use CadNexa on my phone?+
Yes! CadNexa works on mobile browsers. On phones, you get a simplified view with Open, Measure, Weight, and BOM functions. Install it as an app from your browser for the best experience โ€” no app store needed.
What FAI report standards are supported?+
CadNexa supports AS9102 Rev C (Aerospace), PPAP (Automotive), ISO, ASME, DIN (German), JIS (Japanese), GB (Chinese), and IS (Indian) standards. All reports are editable and exportable as PDF.
Is my design IP safe when sharing RFQs?+
Absolutely. When you share an RFQ link, vendors get secure visual-only access to the 3D model. They can view and rotate the model but cannot download, save, or extract the original CAD file. The view is watermarked with an audit trail of who viewed it and when.
Do I need to install any software?+
No. CadNexa runs 100% in your web browser. No installation, no plugins, no Java. Just go to cadnexa.com and sign in with Google. Works on Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari.
How do material prices stay updated?+
Our material database is maintained with current Indian market prices for common engineering materials โ€” SS304, EN8, Aluminium 6061, Brass IS319, and 25+ more. Prices are updated regularly based on market rates.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?+
Yes. All paid plans can be cancelled anytime with no lock-in. You'll continue to have access until the end of your current billing period. After that, you move to the free tier.
